Academic Internship and Research Collaboration in Canada

With the support of the I. Kutateladze Institute of Pharmacochemistry at Tbilisi State Medical University (TSMU) and funding from the LEPL International Education Center (“Qualification Raising Program Abroad 2023-2024”), Senior Researcher Teona Korkotadze completed an internship at the University of Quebec, Canada, last year.

During the internship, researchers investigated the biological activity and safety of the essential oil derived from the needles of the Nordmann fir (Abies nordmanniana (Stev.) Spach) native to Georgia. Furthermore, its chemical composition was analyzed at the specialized private laboratory, "Laboratoire PhytoChemia."

With the financial support of the Institute of Pharmacochemistry, the research findings were published as an article in the international scientific journal "Journal of Essential Oil Bearing Plants" (Impact Factor: 2.1).
